Location: Macon, Piatt, and DeWitt Counties, Illinois

Salary:

Mental Health Professional (MHP): $45,000-$52,000 annually + every other Friday off (paid wellness day)

Schedule: Full-Time | Every other Friday off (paid wellness day)

This program, funded by Illinois DCFS through the System of Care (SOC) grant, provides critical support to youth in foster care and their caregivers to stabilize placements and prevent disruptions.

Your Role:

Mental Health Professional - Intensive Placement Stabilization (IPS)

As a Mental Health Professional, you will provide trauma-informed, community-based services to youth in foster care and their caregivers. This role focuses on engagement, skill-building, and stabilization strategies to prevent placement disruptions and improve outcomes for youth in care.

Core Responsibilities:

Provide individual and family counseling to youth and foster families.

Conduct assessments and assist in developing individualized service plans.

Deliver evidence-based interventions focused on placement stabilization.

Collaborate with DCFS, foster parents, and community partners to coordinate care.

Participate in crisis intervention and on-call rotation as needed.

Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with DCFS and agency standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child welfare systems.

Ability to engage youth and families in a strengths-based manner.

Skilled in creative problem-solving and collaborative approaches to care.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

Must meet Illinois Rule 132 criteria for Mental Health Professional (MHP) , which includes: Bachelor s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field OR

Other qualifications as defined by Illinois Administrative Code Rule 132.

Experience working with youth and families preferred; child welfare experience strongly preferred.

Valid driver s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.

Minimum age: 21 years.
