Collects data, teaches functional skills, manages challenging behaviors, and ensures adherence to clinic policies, safety standards, and documentation requirements. Education & ExperienceCertifications, Licenses, or Registration required:
Registered Behavior Technician from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and experience in a clinical or educational setting supporting children with educational, communication, or behavioral challenges.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Human Behavior. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to react calmly in emergency situations. Ability to form and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients. Ability to work well in a team atmosphere and collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements treatment and behavior plans based on initial and ongoing assessments, providing developmentally appropriate, individualized learning environments for each client. Participates in the creation of reports, individual treatment plans, and behavior reduction plans in coordination with the BCBA.
- Meets regularly with the BCBA to review duties, receive supervision, and implement feedback. Maintains routine supervision documentation.
- Teaches clients functional skills and manages challenging behaviors as determined by individualized treatment and behavior intervention plans. Provides Intensive Table Teaching (ITT) and Natural Environment Teaching (NET).
- Prepares and organizes materials for assigned clients, including program books and language targets; updates progress notes and case-manages assigned program books.
- Writes daily session notes in the EPIC medical records system and forwards them to the BCBA for review and signature.
- Maintains daily upkeep of program materials and client work areas, including data collection, probing, graphing, updating program books, and replenishing materials.
- Passes RBT competencies (e.g., pairing with reinforcement, manding, general session structure, NET) at the required criterion (e.g., 80%).
- Participates in staff meetings, mandatory in-service trainings, and other assigned meetings; represents the clinic professionally and courteously.
- Ensures the health and safety of clients and assist with health and hygiene practices.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards, including HIPAA and FERPA.
- Understands and practices the guiding principles of the clinic and addresses operational issues as needed.
- Completes and retains Monthly and Final Experience Verification forms if enrolled in a graduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis.
