QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least two years experience at the Middle/High School Levels
- Experience in working with children with behavior problems and misconduct
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB PURPOSE: To monitor student behavior and implement strategies that will decrease the amount of short-term and long-term removals, suspension/expulsion rates, discipline referrals and drop-out rates. Hence increasing academic performance, attendance and graduation rates
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Days
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:
- Ensures behavioral compliance of students by monitoring and counseling behaviorally challenged students based on positive behavior intervention and support, and collaborating with principal and teachers to create productive behavior strategies.
- Ensures positive student behavioral outcome by working directly with to concentrate on the triggers which stimulate negative behavior, and afford students the opportunity to transform negative energy into positive energy.
- Ensures safety of students and staff by establishing and maintaining an effective and safe learning climate in the school, enforcing rules of conduct; assisting principal in maintaining order in the facility.
- Foster positive District/Parent/Community relationships by initiating involvement from everyone so that all skills and knowledge can be combined to develop the whole student to ensure acceptable behavior.
- Maintains professional competence by attending professional trainings/workshops and networking.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations of classified personnel.
